Last Weekend

Tomorrow night I leave our little island and head back to the mainland. Since it was my last weekend here, Brady and I have been making the most of our last few days together. We have been so busy that I've been neglecting the blog. I'll give you a run down of our last few days.

We started our weekend when Brady got home around two on Friday. Uh, amazing! He caught me out back trying to catch a few rays. Then he surprised me with news that he didn't have to work on Monday because it's Columbus Day! Even more amazing!

We decided to go out and see the new Sandra Bullock movie, Gravity. The graphics were insane and I'm pretty sure I now have a fear of space. After the movie, we went out for drinks and dinner in Honolulu with another diver couple who live in the city. Awesome times were had until the late hours of the night and then we went home to our nice comfy bed. We are such old folks. Brady usually wakes up for work any time between 430 and 530 am and I'm usually up by 7.  We go to bed pretty early because we rise early. Anyway, we got to sleep in on Saturday and had all day to goof around until it was time for this super surprise date Brady had planned for me. He told me to get all dressed up and be ready by 3:50 because we had to be there by 4:45 or they would leave us. Way to put fire under a girls tush and make her rush to get ready! We drove into Honolulu to the Aloha Tower and this is what was waiting for us.

A 7 course dinner sunset cruise on the Star of Honolulu.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. The services was equally phenomenal. There was even a pianist, singer, and sax player. I'd say this was the best night we've had on this lovely little island. I'm going to dream about the lobster, raspberry sorbet, prime rib, and PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE forever.

Sorry about the poor quality.

A cloudy sunset.

Sunday we made a yummy beef crock pot to simmer all day while we went to the pumpkin patch on the east side of the island. We made it to the area of the pumpkin patch and then we pulled over with a flat tire. Things could have been WAY worse but it just so happened that we pulled into a driving range with a full bar, menu, and over two hours to kill waiting on a tow.

Frustrated Brady went out to let out some aggression.

I mean... I've seen worse sunsets.

Brady decided to make the best of it and teach us how to hit a few golfballs.

I've come to the conclusion that I will always be a softball girl and not a golfin' girl.  I think I managed to get a few balls out to 100 yards though.

We lucked out with the tow. Instead of actually having to tow us, they made a makeshift key to unbolt Brady's rims so we could take off the old tire and put on his standard size tire.

Our last day of our three day weekend consisted of a massive downpour coming from the east side of the island. We had a hail and flash flood warning. Oh did I mention we had already packed the truck up for a beach day about 30 minutes before the storm hit? We just ran back to the house and had a movie grilling out day! It is officially rainy season. Hoping and praying that the rain holds off for my flight out tomorrow!

Hope you enjoyed the glimpse of our crazy, fun filled weekend! Love you all and see you so very soon!
