Dole Plantation

We have this list of all the touristy spots we want to visit before our time is up on the island. Dole Plantation was one of them. In our usual fashion, we jumped on the bike and headed to Wahiawa. We did two of the three exhibits, the maze and the train ride. The gardens were closed due to remodeling. I honestly enjoyed walking around the gift shop and eating the amazing ice cream more than I did any of the attractions. However, the recording on the train was very informative. I learned that it takes about eighteen months for a pineapple to produce. For a few weeks there I was thinking about keeping the top portion of the pineapples we were buying at the farmers market and sticking them in dirt to grow. In the end, I decided against it. Anyway, there are tons of baby pineapples growing all around the grounds and it's surrounding fields. I bet this is why the north shore smells so heavenly. It's full of fields filled with pineapple, coffee, and pine trees. Back to Dole, it's totally a HUGE tourist attraction. It's the ice cream. Seriously THAT good!

Yes ladies, he's all mine. <3

Just a few weirdo pineapples hanging around.

Our ride

The red dirt of Hawaii.

This pineapple is probably less than a year old. Nope, I definitely don't have the time to grow any!

My navigator through "The Largest Maze On Earth."

Pineapple Ice cream at Dole is to die for!

We walked around the gift store as we ate our frozen treats. Found this gem just hanging out in the kids section.

Brought these guys home for later.

Aloha, Happy Hump Day!! <3
