He combines a blissful amount of soul, acoustics, and heart in everything he plays. Over the years i've seen Dallas live a handful of times all up and down the east coast and I must say, his Honolulu show was by far my absolute favorite. Not only did I see Dallas and the band outside the venue, I was as close as I have ever been to the stage.
I'm a sucker for the acoustic music sung by an enticing voice. Dallas' early stuff is by far my favorite. His last few albums have continued to be great but the originals albums strike my soul like no other. This show, he played a blend of his older stuff and his last two albums. I was mesmerized in the music as always and sang my little heart out. Although it was his first trip to the islands he managed to blow away the mixed crowd with his music and his usual stage charm. I felt like the oldest fan there next to all these little babies on their cell phones. At first, it broke my heart to see kids unable to let go of their facebook posts and texts and get lost in the music but one song right after another the kiddies started singing along. ( Mainly to his new stuff)
Mahalo for reading!
