100 Feet Below

Aloha! A few months ago in March, my cousins Ethan and Sarah came to enjoy my little slice of heaven. I'm such a slow poke blogger that I'm just now getting around to writing about our Hawaiian adventures together.

We got to celebrate Ethan's 8th birthday Hawaiian style. We decided that we needed something epic to commemorate the occasion so we took him to the Atlantis Submarine in Waikiki.

I took a bunch of photos of our experience and of the fish. Don't be alarmed if Ethan doesn't look thrilled. He told me that the submarine was his most favorite part of Hawaii but he just wishes he could have swam before we went on our adventure.

This was Sarah's second trip to the island so she knew her favorite spots and what she wanted to revisit. This place was one of them. She got the same photo of that life ring from a few years ago.

We waited for the ferry to pick us up at The Atlantis dock. From there it took us out to the submarine.

Check out the gorgeous blue water. It always amazes me how blue the Pacific Ocean is, specially out at sea.

Look how excited that birthday boy looks.

This was my first time in a submarine so naturally, I took pictures of everything I saw. The University of Hawaii has a Sea Grant Program where they set up these awesome man made structures for coral reef to grow and help build the marine life on the coast of Waikiki. We had a really informative guide full of character that told us all of the details of Atlantis and the marine animals we saw.

Here are a few photos of the sunken airliners and ships at the bottom of the ocean roughly 100 feet below.

We were even able to see a few sea turtles! Can you see him by my watermark?

Look at my handsome hunk! After we finished our submarine trip we sat on the beach and watched all the crazies walk the shore. You see soooo many people down town that have the ability to make you question everything. Check out Santa struttin' the beach.

This little fish could never get enough of the Pacific Ocean. He loved it so much he made sand angels.

All in all, I'd say that it was an awesome experience. The only unpleasant part was the little stinky feet of the child sitting next to me. Hey, what can ya do? Most definitely something I would recommend for any other visitors to the island.

Stay tuned for more of our Hawaiian adventures together.

Aloha
