They rented this giant blow up screen to project the movie on to and invited so many venders. Among the venders were Hawaiian BBQ, 'Truck Art,' (a box truck filled with beautiful art pieces that travels all over the island. ) face painting, brick oven pizzas that they made specifically by order, Twisted Tater, and each had a giant crowd of people standing in line. They seriously pulled out all the stops. The opening show had a handful of elementary age hula dancers that were just precious. There were families everywhere lounged out eating on the grass and littles and puppies running all around Brady and I. We love these events. Even though we don't quite fit in with the family crowd it's fun to watch and interact. It's kind of like being back home for us minus the stranger part. We sat in our little beach chairs eating pizza and watching the people.
We had the pleasure of this gorgeous sunset and about an hour later at dark the movie started. Soon after the movie started we noticed the trade winds slowly ripping the blow up screen. They decided to prevent it from ripping any farther they would take it down and repair it making us wait an additional thirty minutes to continue. I was seriously so excited for Frozen that Brady came up with the awesome idea to race our bikes down to the mini mart in our neighborhood to get Frozen out of the Redbox. So we ditched the waiting at the beach and had sweet Frozen victory at the Red Box. It was stupid how many times I giggled during that cute movie. It stinks we couldn't watch it on the beach but we got to fill our bellies with yummy pizza, our souls with a breathtaking sunset, and get some great laughs from the little sillies all while feeling the sand in our toes and the ocean breeze on our faces. I'd say that was a beautiful Friday night. Aloha!
